Common questions
Where is my data stored?
Only on your phone, in the app's private storage. There are no accounts and no servers. The privacy policy has the full details.
How do I move to a new phone?
On the old phone, go to Settings > Your data and tap Save backup, then put the file somewhere the new phone can reach. On the new phone, install Pump and Plate, then go to Settings > Your data and tap Restore.
Why does the AI need a download?
It runs on your phone, so the model has to live there too. Light is about 0.6 GB, Medium about 2.6 GB and High about 4.3 GB. The app suggests one that fits your phone. Once it's downloaded, it works offline.
Can I use Apple Intelligence instead?
Yes, on an iPhone 15 Pro or newer running iOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. There's nothing to download, and Apple runs it on the device. It can keep less of a long chat in mind than our downloaded models.
My rest alert or morning reminder doesn't show up
Check that notifications are allowed for Pump and Plate in your phone's Settings. On Android, also allow "Alarms & reminders" so rest alerts arrive on time. Battery savers can delay notifications too.
How do tips work, and can I get a refund?
Tips are optional one-time purchases through Google Play or the App Store, and they don't unlock anything. Every feature is free for everyone. Refunds follow the store's own process: Google Play's order history, or Apple's "Report a problem" page.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstall the app, which removes everything it stored. Delete any backup files you saved yourself, too.
Is the code open source?
Yes, under the GNU GPL v3. You can read it on GitHub.
